Happy New Year...we're back!

Hello all...right, so apparently it isn't going as easy to keep up this blog as I originally thought! :) I really think that this is going to be the best way to share photos and updates, so I am going to give it my best shot!

We are having the most fun being a family of five...although sometimes it feels like a family of two and a family of three sharing a house! By the end of the day, I am worn out and the boys (Greg included) really need to run around and burn off energy...so they usually play kickball in the basement or work on throwing or race around our first floor and Mathis and I hang out in the family room. He is a super eater now and still very easy...he cluster feeds from around 5:30 til midnight and then sleeps through til between 5 and 6am. It is wonderful. Very similar to how Landon used to schedule his days even though he was so much bigger at this same age. I always attributed his sleeping through so young to his enormous size, but I guess it may be more than that!

Today the boys and I took Mathis to the doctor for his 1 month check up (a few days early). He did great...even when he got his shot. I had warned the boys that he may be getting a shot and they were so worried and wanted to comfort him, but he only cried for a second. So at 3 weeks 5 days he weighed 9lbs 3.5oz and was 21 inches long. 75% for weight, 25% for height...yup, definitely one of our kids! :) The doctor was totally pleased with his skin tone (no more jaundice) and development (moving both sides the same, holding head up when placed on his belly, following sound and movement, etc.). His really has surprised us with how steady he is holding himself up...not just his head, but if you lay him on your chest while you are laying flat, he will actually push himself up on his forearms and look you in the eye...what a little stud!

Our big boys continue to surprise us with how gentle, tender and loving they are with their new brother! They both love to hug and kiss him and Tanner will tell anyone who will listen that "I a big brother now!" it is precious...as is Landon explaining to him how to be a big brother. We are truly blessed.

Hope you all are enjoying 2009 so far, and don't worry, we Powells take our job prolonging the holidays very seriously...you will receive your Christmas cards sometime around Feb. 1...but don't hold me to that date! :) May God richly bless you this year!
