26 Weeks!

Praise God...we have made it to another milestone! It is hard to believe that I have already been in the hospital for 5 whole weeks!! Today was a very big day for me! My dear friend Rebecca came to visit and took me on a wheelchair ride OUTSIDE for the first time in 5 weeks! It was so wonderful to feel the sun on my face and arms and feel the wind blow through my hair! Wow, how quickly we forget the seemingly littlest things that bring such joy! Now I have a better understanding of Tanner as he pitifully whines "outside, outside"...it has been as if every pore of by being has been screaming that for a long time! Today was beautiful and I hope you were able to be out in it!

Tomorrow we have our weekly scan to check cervix length and stability (and usually I get a bonus photo of P3). I am hoping and trusting that things are still holding steady and looking forward to a good report. We would appreciate your continued prayers in this area and for a healthy, chunky little P3 when it is time to meet him/her!

The newest news we have about Baby Bennett is that he seems to be exerting his will already! When his demand for mommy milk temporarily exceeded what was stored at Grady and formula was offered, he made it abundantly clear that he would wait for the good stuff, thanks! Once Lisa showed up, it was back to business as usual. Hmmm. they could have their work cut out for them, but I'm sure they don't care...I think some of that feisty is why he is here, healthy with us now!! Praise God. We are not sure when he will be going home, but Lisa and Scott are hoping early this week.

On a fun note...My cousin, Gaye (the nurse that has gotten all our families' desperate medical questions for forever) answered a prayer none of us even uttered by showing up at Mom and D's last Wednesday night. It was wonderful for everyone to have her around and it was a huge help for Lisa and Scott and Grandmommy to have help with the kids so they could be down at Grady. She is wonderful!
Landon had his first official coach pitch t-ball game on Saturday...and Gaye kept me in touch with play by play on the phone. His first at bat he cracked a pitch for a double! However, after his turn at bat and realizing that when you play the outfield you don't get much play, Landon proceeded to sit down and play in the dirt! It was typical and adorable, but drew a chat with Daddy about finishing what you start and the fact that if he was going to be a baseball player, he had to play in the field in addition to having his at bats. (This may be a work in progress). Tanner was content to sit with Grandmommy and Nana in the stands saying "my turn". He then gave up and went to play on the playground with Gaye complete with the ever present "watch dis!" It was a great weekend!
We are so appreciative of the prayers, calls, visits and encouragement. God has been so good and we are so humbled. You truly are the hands of God to us and our family and we love you and know God is so pleased with the job you are doing! You are wonderful!
Much love from all the Powells

And on a last up note...How bout them dawgs?? Right, so maybe not our most impressive showing and yes, we were backed down to 3 in the rankings, but hey it's STILL great to be a Georgia Bulldog!
