28 Weeks!!

Well, I guess it is obvious that I have slacked off with the blog...only one entry since my last weekly update...not great, I'll try to do better. I have so appreciated all the visits and calls, especially now that I am working on my 8th week here at Northside. Hard to believe, but I am still hanging out and hoping P3 will too! Today was my scan and we had more good news - 38mm! Fluid still looks good and the baby is head down (which is much more comfy for mommy!) so the doctors are happy...and we are too!! The new plan of action is that if all stays the same I will be allowed to go home at 32 weeks (last week in October...just in time for Halloween) for continued bed rest. We are hopeful that things continue to be great and I can do just that. Landon is especially hoping I will be home to see him in his costume! This is wonderful news for our family and although we will need the continued help of our wonderful helpers, Millie, Cory and Kelly full time so I am not tempted to do the things I used to, I will be able to be home with Greg and the boys! Big huge praises there!

This weekend was great...and terrible! For those of you who watched the Georgia game, you know just what I am talking about...top that off with the polls which are obviously terribly off and it has been a frustrating time for any bulldog fan. The only thing that makes it a little easier to swallow is that we lost to the #8 ranked team...and Florida lost to unranked Ole Miss...amazingly they are just one spot behind us in the polls...see what I mean?! Anywhoo, I had better change the subject...on Saturday I was reprimanded by 5 nurses/techs and put on the contraction monitor b/c they said I was getting too excited during the game. Even my blood pressure was up...wonder why! Saturday was wonderful due to a morning visit with the boys. It is a great way to start the day! Mom and D surprised me by showing up just in time for kickoff and stayed til half time. Then on Sunday, the boys came by after church and we had a picnic downstairs at McDonalds...outside. It was sunny and warm and wonderful! After lunch (which ended up to be 40 minutes in the wheelchair - my longest time sitting in 2 months) I was worn out and so were the boys. We took a nap together and I got to fall asleep to the wonderful duet of their breathing, Landon on my right shoulder and Tanner on my left...it was heavenly! I mostly miss being able to snuggle them and breathe them in...there is nothing like the feel and smell of your own little ones to make you feel so warm and happy on the inside! It was a wonderful day and I think they both were happy to wake up with me right there too...and did I mention how adorable they are with sleepy time hair and sleep marks on their faces? I sure do love my little boys!!

Sunday, my friend Lila and her husband Nathan decided that my room needed a little sassafrass and decorated it with white sparkly lights and little Georgia jersey napkins hanging around...even some mardi gras beads! It is so fun and the boys absolutely LOVED it...so did I!! She said that she had been planning it for a while, but Lila is one of those obnoxious Auburn fans and personally, I think her timing is a little suspect! Who cares, I love my decorations -Thank you sweet friend!

I want to thank you all for your concern and prayers for little Jacob. I ran into Amy on Saturday (well, she ran into me) and she said that after a tough night on Friday, his blood pressure was doing well and they were looking forward to seeing how he did this weekend. Please keep praying for him and his little body...especially his lungs...and for Amy and Todd that they can get some rest and feel some of God's peace in this scary time of unknowns.

You are all so dear...and we so appreciate all the wonderful help we are receiving! Greg and the boys are having some delicious meals, and a part of me worries that he will get used to this home-cooking thing! No, really, we do appreciate the meals...it gives Greg extra quality time with the boys at night and also allows them to make it down to visit mommy, which I really need! Please know how much we appreciate you! We have always known that we have been blessed with amazing families, friends and neighbors - now it is just that much more evident! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We love you!

Love, Kristen and the fellas
